Neural Pathways Learning Center was created in response to a need for academic and psychological testing and intervention in the Kansas City Northland area.  Our team specializes in understanding the barriers that keep children from learning to their best ability.  We utilize biofeedback, Interactive Metronome, and psychotherapy to assist in eliminating those barriers for a more robust learning experience.  Please take a moment to read our mission and values.

Andi Kumer, MA, is a licensed professional counselor.  Along with seeing clients at Neural Pathways Learning Center, she also provides care for children and adults within her practice, A Courageous Mind Counseling.  Andi felt called to “help people” at a young age, with many local and overseas experiences that led her to becoming a therapist.  Early on, she held interest in the mental and emotional development of children and adolescents, and how early experiences affect their maturation.

After receiving her Master’s in Counseling Degree from MidAmerica Nazarene University, Andi became interested in understanding more about how brain-body connections impact the human experience, and has since become certified in Integrated Listening: Safe and Sound Protocol.  Andi enjoys further self study into the Polyvagal Theory, aiding understanding of how the autonomic nervous system affects cerebral functioning and other publications on interpersonal neurobiology.  She has also trained in Interactive Metronome, and other uniquely powerful interventions.  She is excited to assess opportunities for children and adolescents to gain richer and more positive educational, emotional and social experiences, while giving families access to well researched, dynamic treatment options!  A writer and speaker, you can find Andi at acourageousmind.com.
